VIA HAS ANNOUNCED the release of yet another teeny weeny snappy lappy into an already bulging-at-the-seams market.
The S1 imini Mini-Note (iplease istop with the idreadful inames) Series, which will be built by the Tsinghua Tong Fang Company based in Beijing, has a maximum power consumption of 15W, and is powered by a 1.6GHz VIA C7-M processor combined with a VIA VX700 chipset.
With a 10.2-inch screen, the S1 imini, which features a portable hard drive with battery pack, and digital photo frame or DVD playback (not in Vista) is aimed firmly at the domestic Chinese market.
It will be available in white, blue, pink, gold or black throughout China only at the moment... so you can keep your 583 imperialist yankee dollars (or your £325) to yourself for the time being
Unusually for this type of machine, it runs Vista Home Basic out of the box alongside a Linux dual interface.

Sounds like we found the OEM for Commodores "new" UMMD 8010/F netbook.
If the article is translated from Chinese and that's where you got the name, then my guess is that it's some sort of "Intelligent Identification System." Fingerprint reader, maybe?
