Micron eyes up Infineon's DRAM business

Qimonda? We wonda
Fri Apr 28 2006, 10:08
THE CEO OF Micron, Steve Appleton, told a Wall Street Journal reporter he's interested in snapping up Infineon's DRAM line.

German firm Infineon (tick: IFX) said earlier this year it was going to spin off its DRAM arm, rename it Qimonda next Monday, and float on an as yet undecided stock exchange.

But, according to the Journal, Appleton said Micron (tick: MU) has long said it's had an interest in Infineon and wants to talk.

The article appears to suggest that while Micron wants to talk, Infineon or Qimonda as it will be, wasn't necessarily interested in listening. µ
