A CASE started in a Texan district court against Microsoft for alleged infringement of a patent.

Canadian firm i4i alleges Microsoft breached US patent 5,787,449 - a "method and system for manipulating the architecture and the content of a document separately from each other".

Microsoft is breaching the patent in Word 2003, Word 2007, Net Framwork and Windows Vista, it's alleged.

The firm is seeking triple damages for breaches of the patent, which consists of a series of flow charts and a lengthy description of the same. µ
