Small is the new big in TV tuners shoot out

PIXELVIEW HAD SEVERAL TV tuners worth noting, and a tiny Bluetooth headset on display this year. The most interesting one was smaller than the gizmo I proclaimed the smallest TV tuner ever at the show. This one, the PlayTV 509 is a DVB-T USB2.0 stick, and is slightly smaller than the GeCube one. Little more to say other than it's small and it's in production.

Next up, a set of V806 Bluetooth headphones. While this is not a new concept, the 806 is one of the best implementations I've seen. You plug it into your MP3 player, and put the headphones on to listen to music (duh). When you get a call, the V806 acts as a Bluetooth headset, mutes the music and answers the phone hands free.

Last up is the PlayTV ADD2+, a twin tuner PCIe card. It has an analogue and digital tuner, so it is Media Centre and Eastfork compatible, sporting DVI, TV, HDTV and optional SCART outs. Basically, if you need a tuner, this should do the job for you. µ
