The INQUIRER? That's my home page... - Intel field sales engineer
GOOGLE'S ANDROID operating system has been the subject of much hype recently, with all sorts of predictions about how devices using the system will work. Well, it appears the answer may be uninspiring, to say the least.
Gizmodo has some photos of a prototype and it looks pretty much like any standard Windows Mobile clunker, but with a different screen.
It appears that the prototype comes from HTC, and it features a Blackberry-style keyboard along with some massive smart buttons. In fact the design is just, well, totally bland - with nothing to recommend it.
The software looks clean, with a Google Mail indicator for email and some fairly standard icons. We can but hope that future phones will get a little more adventurous. ยต

The point is that the OS can be adapted to ANY hardware and what you see there is only test hardware - Stop being so narrow minded.
Read the editorial of the new Java Magazine and think about Google and its behaviour in case of Android: http://it-republik.de/jaxenter/java-magazin-ausgaben/Single-Sign-on-000233.html

Kind Greetings

I was hoping you'd have some sort of AI angle, but obviously, you missed the boat on that.

So, seriously, did you expect a staid company like HTC to come out with a revolutionary new Google iPhone-a-like machine?

The whole point of Android is to allow developers to code their own apps, not take what the phone company dishes out.

Man, until some kid comes out with the killer-app (or virus) written for Android don't bother. You're better off looking for innovation in bathroom fixtures or waste disposal facilities.
Wily, you are an idiot.

Google.com.

'Oh, it's a little unadventurous.'

See what I mean?
