Google ratchets up GMail storage

3.5GB on its way
Friday, 16 March 2007, 15:13
THE MIGHTY GOOGLE is planning on allowing us about 3.5GB of free storage on GMail accounts, according to blogger Niraj Sanghvi. That catch is that that capacity is not scheduled to be offered until about 2012 by current calculations.

Back in the day when Google first announced GMail, a gig of mail seemed an enormous amount but plenty of people who use the service in anger and keep attachments could be approaching that total by now.

Of course, the G-men have quietly been cranking up allocations since then but, clearly, too much is never enough for some people. ยต
