Plucky Brit firm launches Push email

Has it found an answer to Visto?
Thu May 25 2006, 12:00
GIVEN VISTO'S propensity to sue anyone offering a 'Push' email service, British vendor, Sirenic, must be extremely confident.

It's just launched an enhancement to its MobilePA offering which provides for both 'push' and 'pull' email. The product is based around Sirenic's 'relevance engine'. This allows users to search up to 10,000 archived emails held on a server.

Crucially Sirenic is aiming to enable 'push' emails to be delivered onto a wide range of mobile phones - not just high end devices. However, initially this facility is available as Java applet to run on Symbian based phones.

Additionally, the company intends to launch a 'Lite' version of MobilePA which is aimed at consumers and the mass market.

It's possible to sign up for a free trial version of MobilePA from Sirenic's web site right now. µ
