USB on an earring starts a new trend

ALTHOUGH WIRELESS USB is a nice concept and all, the keyword for this year's CeBIT was definitely: flash. From cell phones and PDAs to regular batch of thousand MP3 players and USB sticks, flash memory is being deployed like there's no tomorrow.

So with the world+dog frantically competing, the main question is how do these firms show they're doing something different?

Kingmax decided to try with an unusual approach, a wearable USB stick. The company took thickest plastic case you could manufacture, placed a thin PCB on it, and put memory controller and a flash chip in mere 1mm. The drive itself is available in various capacities, ranging from 256MB to 1GB.

It can't be long before some fancy designer house comes to the idea of placing a USB stick in a $10,000 earring. µ
