Sony PSP gets browser

ENTERTAINMENT gear maker Sony is to give its Play Station Portable (PSP) access to the world wide wibbley web by adding a browser and wireless access.

The browser will be offered as an add on that will allow wireless internet access on the device, and a browser so that gamers can have a look at the news and check emails between games.

The upgrade, Sony Firmware 2.0 will also give increased data security on the device and enhance digital photo-sharing and video playback capabilities.

Users will need a least 16MB of free space on your PSP's Memory Stick Pro Duo card to download and install the firmware update.

According to a press release Sony hopes that the internet browser and other added functionality and will "enhance the user experience" beyond the "unprecedented portable entertainment already provided by PSP". Well what do you expect? It was a press release recounted here.
