ATI staffers to get @AMD.com emails

No one knows any solid details about who will stay and who will go. We cannot help these guys much, but we did learn that those allowed to stay will soon get a name.surname@amd.com email address.

This is likely to be the beginning of the end for the ATI brand, as we don't believe that this one has many legs left. Brands such as Radeon are probably here to stay but, in a year or so, you might be looking at a AMD Radeon card not an ATI-branded one.

One big company is slowly coming to the end of its road and another one, much stronger than before, is about to kick off.

Few people now remember 3DFX, one great graphic company that was swallowed by Nvidia some four years ago, but some folk at Nvidia's Santa Clara HQ still have 3DFX shirts in their closets and are proud of that. Ping us about the old times if you like, but I won't say that Glide rocks. µ
