Via to launch Pentium M pin-compatible CPU

WE HEAR that Via is planning to launch a rather interesting CPU.

We don't know many details but we do know it's pin compatible with existing socket 479 platforms.

In other words, it will be Pentium M compatible.

Some tier one motherboard manufacturers are going to support such a CPU and at least one Taiwanese company is already working on such a design.

We suspect it's going to be a very cool CPU - opposite from hot- and it won't consume much power.

We will expect to see this little baby at VIA technology show that will take place side by side with Computex. µ
