Drawing on my fine command of the English language, I said nothing - Robert Benchley

He used to park his Ferrari, then later his Hummer in the (limited number of) car-pool spaces, leaving those of us who actually car-pooled to trudge from parking lot Siberia into the building. When the car-pool spaces weren't available, the bastard would use the handicapped spots.
I find your suggestions of "another Daniel Feussner" intriguing....The email address you indicate in your article is "v-danfe@microsoft.com". At Microsoft, the email alias nomenclature dictates that the "v-" preceding the name indicates that this was a contractor.
That however, is the only evidence I can accept as viable.
The boat mooring post was submitted a full 6 months prior to his [alleged] embezzlement. Perhaps he was planning ahead, but did not know the specifics. Perhaps his plan met with success beyond his expectations, and he purchased a yacht instead of a boat.
The Mustang links are not very surprising, nor are the motorcycle tidbits. Daniel was extensively into both cars and motorcycles. The report in the Seattle Times provided a link to his vanity site, where he proudly (see: stupidly) displayed the booty from his [alleged] plundering. The article went on to describe how he had paid for the Ferrari with cash, but traded various vehicles for his Hummer. He was into customizing of motorcycles, and had two top of the line Harleys. He also had a racing chopper that he was customizing. To me, this simply reads like someone who was into cars and racing who went from vehicles within his means, to vehicles he'd only dreamt of previously (e.g. Ferraris, Jags, Hummers & Harleys).
I thought perhaps you'd appreciate the extra detail for your theories. There very well might have been another Daniel Feussner, a contractor at Microsoft...or perhaps Feussner was a contractor prior to becoming a full time employee - maybe he was getting a work visa or something...
One thing I do know for certain is that for a "genius" programmer, the guy sure was a total dumbass when it came to common sense. An arrogant prick as well. What nerve to [allegedly] steal 9 million worth of software from your employer, then have the balls to buy flashy cars with the stolen loot and *drive them to work!*
And for a European to not know about using off shore bank accounts....why, it boggles the mind. He must have been so arrogant that he thought he'd never get caught....usually how stupid [alleged] criminals get caught.
Regardless of any of this detail, I will say that I am thrilled that there is one less Ferrari driving jackoff in the world taking up the car-pool and handicapped spaces from those who actually deserve them. If he gets 75 years in prison becoming someone named 'Bubba's bitch, I will consider that justice served. And who cares about the [alleged] embezzlement - that's just for taking up the handicapped spaces.
Happy Holidays to you
