690G/V chipset, Daamit

MOTHERBOARD MAKER MSI has launched a series of boards based on AMD's freshly-minted 690G/V chipset.

The firm has built an HDMI interface into some of the boards in the range, in what it claims is a world first.

The K9AGM2-FIH board is based on AMD's 690G chipset and features both HDMI interface and HDCP decoder. Dual video outputs are available, with the HDMI and D-Sub connector onboard.

A second board, the K9AG Neo2-Digital integrates HDMI and DVI around the 690G chipset in a ATX design.

The HDMI interface delivers video resolutions up to 1920x1080 (1080i) HD video output. The resolution depends on the driver and output screen's specifications.

The range also includes the micro-ATX MSI K9AGM2-FIH and K9AGM2-F/L, and the K9AG Neo-F ATX motherboards, based on AMD's 690V chipset.

The K9AG Neo2-Digital is scheduled for the end of March. µ
