Matrix star gives £50 million to geeks

Fairness to unsung heroes

KEANU REEVES is giving £50 Million to The Matrix geeks.

As the star of movie The Matrix and its sequels, such as The Matrix Reloaded that made about $350 Million in box-office receipts on its opening weekend, Reeves stands to rake in about £70 Million from his 15% interest. So he's going to be generous to the real wizards and unsung heroes of those films, the costume and special-effects crews.

In the case of the Matrix films, those are mostly special-effects programmers, one imagines.

That's about $80 Million in US dollars to be divided up among 29 people, folks. You do the math, whether you're counting in pounds or dollars.

The story is at Hello! magazine here. µ
