LONDON-BASED MESH COMPUTERS, has gone AMD Radeon HD 2900 XT bonkers and built a whole range of systems based on the card.

Mesh general manager Tony Riccardi reckons: “Although not every system we sell is originally designed as a gaming rig, almost every Mesh PC will see games running on them at some stage”.

That's the thinking behind the Mesh XHD range anyhow.

Cheapest in the range is the Mesh XHD 6000, featuring an AMD X2 6000+ processor, 2GB of system memory and a 19-inch widescreen monitor, for £1000. It is aimed at "gaming enthusiasts" who are looking for outstanding full DX10 compatibility, says the firm.

Mesh signed up to AMD's Platform Advantage initiative, which is designed to leverage AMD's chipspertise and ATI graphical know-how.

"All of our systems have gaming capability - but the new Mesh XHD range, with its complete AMD Platform Advantage and Radeon HD 2900XT graphics acceleration, will set new standards in DX10 game play while offering outstanding bang for buck," said Riccardi.

Customers unimpressed by the promise of DX10 and put off by Vista's DRM can have XP installed at a push. µ
