Intel builds benchmark for server virtualisation

AT A RECENT Intel brainwashing session, the chip maker discussed how to go about proving exactly how much bigger its collective member is when compared to that of the competiton.

In this 'vein' the firm is attempting to develop a new metric to help analysis in the complex and muddy waters of multicore servers and virtualisation technologies.

Named vConsolidate Workload (beta), this new tool attempts to simulate the type of workloads and usage that might occur in a standard environment, and unsurprisingly the Intel processors came out looking like roses.
