CHIPZILLA CHAIRMAN, Craig Barrett, spoke at the U.S.-Arab Economic Forum in Washington, D.C. today, to promote his vision for digital transformation of the Middle East by spreading technology and education.
"Education and technology can expand what is possible and create opportunities for people across the Middle East," said Barrett, who added that a fully functioning economy relies on a highly educated workforce and a good strong technology infrastructure.
Barrett reminded his audience that advancements in technology and education needed to be achieved as a joint effort between both the private and the public sectors, and unveiled a number of new Intel sponsored initiatives which are aimed at promoting economic, educational and technology-related support throughout the region. Education about buying Intel products that is.
The chipzilla chairman also announced plans by the company to train 1,000 Middle Eastern engineers on multi-core computer development, in labs across the region, as well as offering internships and bringing researchers from the Middle East to visit other global Intel Research Labs.
Ever pushing the flailing Wimax platform, Barrett announced that the company would also be setting up “wireless competency centers” in the region, with the aim of helping to push Wimax onto local telecom operators. Whether they want it or not.
Intel’s the U.S.-Palestine Partnership was reaffirmed by Barrett, who noted that the firm would focus on training Palestinian teachers, as well as initiatives to encourage entrepreneurship.
Intel has had a rather large presence in Israel for 30 years, but has recently been delving further into the Arab world as the company expands. Chipzilla has already set up operations in Cairo, Riyadh, Beirut, Dubai and Casablanca. µ

That's why I be so really keen on to teaching me Arabian Aphasian horse to count (shame to miss a birthday) and maybe someday read. He should have something to fall back on at least, given that he's clearly lost the ability to talk (he's no Mr. Ed, sadly).

But he's as stuborn as a mule, but not as bad as you might expect! because Of course I can't drive, but crikey, neither can he! Mindmonger, giddyapp!
