A PIECE AT ReactorCritical claiming Nvidia's GeForce FX chip does not like curves and will feature no displacement mapping has whipped up some controversy. Does this mean it won't be fully DX9-ed up? they ask here.

The equally-german Chip.de posted an interview with AMD Germany in which the spokesman says that that Barton will have a 333MHz FSB. Does this discount the rumours of a 400MHz FSB we wonder. Point your favoured translator over here.

But Amdmb.com has published their coverage of the Comdex show. They saw the 1.4 GHz Athlon 64 in action and are sticking with the possibility of an AMD 400 MHz FSB. "Nvidia's CEO, with a little slip, mentioned a 400 MHz FSB Athlon running at the NVIDIA labs, They say. "After more digging I verified with someone at AMD and at NVIDIA that the AMD Barton core processors will ship with a 400 MHz front side bus." Hmmm. Wibble this way.

Meanwhile, Abit has changed the tone of its MAX line of motherboards, says Tech-Report. With the MAX2 series, serial and parallel ports are still out, but PS/2 ports are back, they say with a look at the IT7 MAX2 V2.0 over here.

MHW goes crazy with a GF4 Ti4600 card today, they reckon. They water cool it and then voltage mod the core and the memory. Wibble over here for their findings.

Overclockers Club Canada has a look at Zalman's CNPS5700D-Cu Quiet CPU Cooler over here.
