We reported then that Shuttle was well ahead of the pack, although we reported in that story that the design for the Prescott looked, well, a little uncomfortable.
But Shuttle has managed to keep the cooling down to a minimum within a nice small form factor - testament to its ability to cool things, we think. All future models of P4 based machines will be able to use Prescott chips in the future, Shuttle said.
We met Ken again and he proudly grabbed us by the arm and dragged us away from the nice PR lady to show us exactly how his firm had done it.
We were very interested in the little Media Center box Shuttle was showing too. Ken demonstrated that one side of the box was perfectly cool, while the other side was rather warm. We asked him what happened if you put the warm side against that old fashioned substance wood. Did it warp?
His answer was to gently guide our one working ear down to the box, pictured below, and ask us if we could hear anything. We couldn't. It was perfectly silent. But the other side of the box felt dashed warm to us, signifying that there is some serious cooling going on inside the mysterious vehicle to the Internet and Entertainment.
Later, just as we were leaving the booth, Ken gestured to us and asked us to stand still for a moment because he wanted to capture us on video. We stayed still long enough to take a snap of Ken with his tripod, and his little pet giraffe on his right.
