SDC covers 100 devices
Mon Dec 04 2006, 15:24
PROVIDER OF DIGITAL RIGHTS MANAGEMENT kit, Secure Digital Container, has today announced plans to bring next-gen DRM gear to over hundred different mobile devices.

The company says it aims to reduce the cost and complexity for carriers by offering one unique app and one DRM sytem for all sorts of music and video related goods.

SDC's PC Player Version 2.0 is planned for launch early next year, and will be compatible with all the regular mobile operating systems and the common codecs, such as mp3, MPEG4 and WMA.

SDC is hoping for a good year, noting that music-enabled handsets are currently outshipping iPods at a ratio of two to one. The fim reckons that, in 2007, there's going to be tons of pay-per-download music and video services available to mobiles. µ
