Olympic blue screen of death
WHILE THE FORMER software king of the world, Sir William Gates trotted around the Olympic Games one of his most famous legacy's the Windows blue screen of death was being broadcast above him.
Shedloads of interweb boggers spotted the huge Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) projected onto the roof of the National Stadium during the grand finale to the four-hour spectacular. It was just as Chinese gymnast Li Ning, hung 70 metres above the stadium floor.
Chinese forum sites have been gleefully showing snaps of the clearly visible error message projection.
Windows XP operating system was chosen to run on all PCs used by the organisers a well as being the operating system installed on laptops supplied by Lenovo. Organisers did not think that Vista was mature enough to run at the games.
Lenovo boss, Yang Yuanqing, famously said that if it's not stable, Vista could have some problems. ยต
