AMD contemplates additional chip outsourcing

Maybe

A REPORT claimed AMD could soon transfer elements of its chip manufacturing.

Bloomberg said the move could happen in the next few months as way of avoiding more capital expenditure, quoting AMD rep Drew Prairie. He said that it already shares testing with IBM, and wants to do similar things with manufacturing.

This is all part of CEO Hector Ruiz’ “asset light” strategy, a strategy that is certainly detail light, as he refuses to explain what it means. µ

Asset Light

Probably has to do with a Profit Light strategy which cuts down on profits as much as possible so they can go out of business. Seems like what they are doing!

AMD does it already

It's 100% verified information - AMD produces a some percentage of it's CPU chips at Tower Semiconductor in Israel.
