Apple Iphone frozen in time

Guerrillas in the midst
Friday, 22 June 2007, 08:58
IT SEEMS THAT Apple has hit on a bit of Iphone guerrilla marketing for its fan boys to get excited about.

Various web groups have been pondering why all the photos of the Iphone show that the time is always 9:42.

It all seems to have started using a post on Digg where some punter pointed out the conundrum.

The Apple press office's official line is that it "is not telling, or the number might be random" but since it never tells anyone anything that is not surprising.

Since Jobs' Mob would be unlikely to do anything that is random, we suspect that there is a reason behind it.

The obvious one is that the Safari-based Iphone is broken and they cannot fix the clock in time for its marketing shoots.

Another one is that is all just a bit of guerrilla marketing to get people talking about the Iphone so that people buy the low-tech, over-priced phone with the nice interface when it comes out. ยต
