Today is a nice place to visit but you can't stay here for long
Digitaltrends analyses the Sony DCR-SR100 hard-drive camcorder. Its cylindrical form makes it an almost perfect fit for a hand. Highs are a 3.3MP CCD, a huge 30GB HDD, 5.1 Dolby Digital sound, a colour viewfinder and top notch Carl Zeiss lenses. It has its share of problems but if you want to be able to edit your footage ASAP and DVD doesn't look like your best choice, the SR100 is a good bet. That said, you might wait a bit for the SR40 which comes with a lower resolution CCD, 30GB HDD and a 20x Optical zoom but costs 40% less.
Elitebastards conveys us to an article on the Sandisk Sansa e270 MP3 player. This model comes with a 6GB memory which puts it firmly in iPod territory. Obviously, you don't go against the Apple's iconic player without offering much much more. The e200 does just that. Voice recording, music and video playing as well as an FM radio means that if you are not an iPod disciple, you can get it cheaper than a smaller capacity Nano.
Hardware.info puts the Core2 Duo E6400 to the test. In a nutshell, it runs at 2.13GHz with two cores and 2MB L2 cache in all. It is compared to similarly priced products namely the x2 4200 and the Pentium D 950. Even if the Core is an entry level CPU, it's performance puts it in the same league as the x2 4800+. I would be very wary for AMD if Intel came up with a E6000 or a E6200. The only thing preventing it from doing so is the excess Pentium D stock currently on the market.
Serif has updated its Web Plus 10 software and delivered a compelling upgrade. It does not rival Frontpage or Dreamweaver but still manages to carve a niche of its own at a fraction of the prices of the above named packaged. Serif has plugged in additional features like Paypal compatibility and Blog entry facilities which makes everything so easy. You have limited HTML editing features, but then, you could always pair Web Plus with one of the many code editors out there.
Clubic reports on the Leadtek Winfast PX7900GS TDH. That cards comes just behind the 7900GT and acts the missing link between 7600 and the 7900 families. The board is a single slot model with a reasonably large Heatsink fan. Clubic posts some benchmarks of the card alone and in SLI, in comparison with the X1900GT, the 7900GT, the 7600GT and the X1800GTO.
