Microsoft, LG sign cross licence agreement

LG ELECTRONICS and Microsoft said they'd signed a patent cross licence agreement which means, apparently, the hardware outfit can use Linux based embedded devices.

Microsoft will pay money to LGE and Microconnect for patents "related to operating systems".

LGE will pay money to Microsoft for its patents "as they relate to Linux based embedded devices that LGE produces".

According to the Vole, it has signed similar agreements with NEC, Nortel, Samsung, Seiko and Fuji Xerox to "help build bridges" between computer hardware, software and telecomms. µ
