Apple patents music that affects mood

ENTERTAINMENT gear maker Apple has patented a device which controls the speed of music to affect the mood and behaviour of the user during an activity such as exercise.

The patented device which has the number 20060107822 and is here, has two ways that music can be changed to affect your mood or activity. The first is to select music to match the activity and the other is to speed up or slow down the music.

The second option strikes us as fairly useless. After all who wants to hear a track sped up so that the vocals sound like Mini Mouse on helium just because you are running like the clappers?

According to the letters patent the music can be tied to your heart beat so it will increase or decrease to match. If it stops, it is time to crack open the defibrillator, if it goes too fast all the time, then you have to question your fitness level. µ
