Cisco warns Microsoft Vista is scary

Security nightmare

CISCO'S TOP security boffin Bob Gleichauf has admitted that parts of Vista scare him.

According to ZD Net, Gleichauf said that Vista will fix a lot of security issues, but he fears that anything with that level of complexity will have new threats.

Speaking to the Gartner Security Summit Gleichauf said that it was always a struggle in security, trying to build for what you don't know.

He also said that sticking Vista machines into legacy networks is going to be problematic for a while.

Gartner experts reckon that a lot of companies are a little nervous about running Vole's security systems on legacy systems.

Not many of them believe that Vole will "get it right first time" and do not think it is a good idea to trust network security to the outfit.

Microsoft has not done much to re-assure punters either. The Big G says that by pushing the release date back, Microsoft gave the impression that it was finding more bugs.
