IT SERVICES company Atos Origin has been brought to our attention once more – this time for a more positive reason than losing an all-important memory stick.
Even though the clueless company had to confess to losing the data storage device containing government passwords, it has still managed a 5.3 percent year-on-year growth.
According to the third quarterly results, revenue for the first nine months was up over six percent – UK business generating double growth.
Chief executive Philippe Germond said, "During the third quarter we have been able to maintain an organic growth above five per cent as planned.”
IDC analyst Laura Converso explained that, "The current economic turmoil brings new opportunities to the vendors with the lowest-cost locations, with strong brands and strong balance sheets.”
Converso concludes by saying that even if Atos Origin continues cost-cutting, most of its competitors are already ahead in terms of offshore capacity – companies are expected to use this card to steal market share from other vendors at a touch time in the IT services market. µ
