Sony flogs shedloads of tellies

AFTER A YEAR of bad news the maker of exploding batteries, Sony can finally report a bit of Christmas cheer.

According to Reuters, the outfit's bottom line has been bolstered by a sudden demand for flat panel televisions and digital cameras in the US.

Sony had not taken part in some of the heavy discounting attempted to drive punters to the stores in the day after Thanksgiving. However it still managed to laugh all the way the bank as sales shot up.

In fact Sony is surprised that anyone bought anything from it, given that competitor's goods were heavily discounted and disappearing from the shelves.

One theory is that shops sold out of discounted televisions quickly and punters just got carried away and bought the first things they saw. µ
