A little of the heaviside layer here

TOSHIBA HAS ANNOUNCED a newcomer to its gaming-specific notebook series, with the Satellite P100-ST9742, boasting the Intel Core 2 Duo processor.

There's a nicely sized 17-inch diagonal wide screen display on the machine, and features plenty of goodies including NVidia's GeForce Go 7900 GTX card and 512 GDDR3 SDRAM VRAM too, which should help smooth along the gaming process. Also included is a DVI-D output port so users can connect to an HDTV if they so wish.

All these goodies, of course, mean the machine's a tad on the hefty side, weighing in at a lug-worthy 7.1 pounds. You'll have to be a big fella to carry this 'un around - of course, as we know, many avid gamers are indeed big fellas.

The hard drive's a 100GB SATA HDD, and the system also comes with a DVD SuperMulti +/-R double layer drive. 2048mb of PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM memory is included too, making this an impressive (and pricey) beast. Of course, wireless is bundled in, with an Intel PRO/Wireless network connection.

Should you fancy seriously splashing out on some nice hardware, you'd probably be best to head over to ToshibaDirect where the machine is exclusively available, for the time being, at a charmingly expensive $2,899. ยต
