Intel shares edge up. And down

Less than Google but 10x AMD
Fri Aug 11 2006, 16:23
INTEL LIFTED two percent yesterday as the market reacted favourably to the sale of its media and signalling business to Eicon Networks, and perhaps its open-source graphics news.

The chip Gargantua's stock is still bumping along near its 52-week low and Intel now has a lower market cap, $103 billion, than Google, $113 billion.

Before any chartitable donations are requested however, it should be noted that Intel is still 10 times the size of its friends at high-flying AMD. ยต

* LIKE the Grand Old Duke of York, Intel is down again today, 19 cents since opening, standing at $17.56.

Blizzard pretty clearly states that THEY own all World of Warcraft data. This includes characters, items, and anything to do with World of Warcraft. Essentially, that guy sold Blizzard owned property for $10,000. I think they did the right thing, and even if they didn't, they have the right to do it. It's right in the disclaimer.

Paid for a game ....

Trying to make money playing a video game. As opposed to playing basketball, football, baseball for money ? Hypocritical don't you think ? If someone is willing to pay it them let them provide the service to fulfill it.

Questionable Business Structure?

Blizzard's inmoving policy on account transfers and gold-selling is a disservice to the millions of people dumping as many hours of time into WoW. Is it a bad thing for kids to come home from school and tell their mom they're "going to work", and proceed to login? People would get paid for their time, and people who cannot spend the time but take pleasure in development will line their pockets. Food for thought at least, IMO.
