INTEL’S COMING SOON mobile chips could soon be making an appearance in Sony’s new notebook line, according to specs posted by resellers.
The resellers, basing their claims on leaked Sony documents, seemed to show that AMD’s mobile graphics processors also had a significant part to play in Sony’s new notebook series. Sony’s Vaio FW series, for example, is expected to come complete with AMD-ATI HD 3470 graphics amongst others.
The notebooks, which will purportedly sport High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI), will come in several varieties; the VAIO FW, VAIO Z, VAIO SR, and VAIO BZ series, all based on Intel’s Centrino 2 “Montevina” mobile platform with Core 2 Duo “Penryn” 45nm processors, according to Laptoping.
CNET also points to a post on notebook forum notebookreview.com, which shows what is apparently a sketch of a VGN-FW100 series, and other posts which list the notebook’s specs as 2.26GHz Core 2 Duo P8400, 4GB of memory, a 250GB hard disk drive, and Blu-Ray Disc drive. µ
