Epox 5LDA+GLI does SLI

Kind of promoted as GLI

EPOX HAS a very interesting Intel based baord. This board can show you the way of the future as this is exactly where Intel wants us all to go. This is among the first boards based on Intel's i945P chipset that has two PCIe slots. It's even better that this board can do unique SLI called GLI as it works a bit differently that Nvidias SLI.

SLI works in dual more where each card operates at two times PCIe 8X devidinting PCIe 16X between two card slots. In the GLI mode, the first card works on full 16X PCIe speed while the second card has a PCIe 16X slot that works at 4X PCIe speed. To make it even more interesting, the second PCIe 4X speed slot gets its speed from ICH, or should we call it old fashioned south bridge.

You can use Forceware drivers such is 71.62 and run two cards on this Epox i945P board and you will roughly get 35 per cent or greater performance increase. This board might actually work with Crossfire but we cannot confirm this yet, no master cards to try.

This machine can actually driver four HDTV displays of 4 LCDs on one sistem and this information might be interesting for many business customers. You need the 80 series of drivers to make this work. If you want to get the final speed of SLI you go for Nforce 4 for Intel boards I guess.

It's an alternative and it's an interesting board available now. ยต
