It turns out that HDMI-capable X1600 cards are set to cost a very acceptable $119 apiece. The regular X1600 costs $109, so this will be a slight $10 price increase, nothing to get overly worried about.
But were advised that there is a big chance that the card bundle won't include the HDMI cable and we found this quite unreasonable, as whoever buys such a card will need a HDMI cable as well.
Those cables costs around $/30 in retail stores but you might be able to get them for 10 to 15 on E's Bay.
A graphics company can get these for way cheaper than that. And if it chose to increase the price of its package by up to, say, five bucks, it would solve a lot of troubles for many people.
I would certainly be one of them, as I would need to buy an HDMI cable. You need the HDMI cable to transfer audio and video from your PC to a HDTV-capable TV. µ
* UPDATE In an emergency meeting prompted by this article, we hear Power Color is considering including an HDMI cable in its retail boxes. We'll keep you posted.
