And, overall, it showed the best growth performance during the first calendar quarter of this year.
The research reckons that its shipments rose by 45.8 per cent to hit 4.2 million units, giving it a market share of 6.8 per cent, a lead of 9.4 per cent over Chinese firm Lenovo.
Despite Acer's rise, it has a very long way to go to threaten Dell's number two position.
