Flash drive holds 8GB of compressed data

A FLASH DRIVE which is able to hold eight gigabytes of compressed data has debuted.

The drive, called the KanguruMicro 2.0 costs just under $1700 - you could buy an Apple PowerBook 12-inch for that price, or six Apple iPod Minis, which hold 4GB of space. The iPod drives use Hitachi's mini hard drive, but the KanguruMicro 2.0 uses NAND flash memory.
