AMD subpoenas lawyers in Intel case

How far is this going to go?
Wed May 23 2007, 14:44
CHIP FIRM AMD issued two subpoenas yesterday to Howrey LLP and to Gibson Dunn & Crutcher - both Los Angeles lawyers.

AMD wrote to Special Mater Vincent Poppiti yesterday saying a dispute had arisen between AMD and Intel. In that letter, AMD alleges Intel's outside counsel "were involved as actors" in developing Intel's document preservation plans.

This subpoena appears to be in connection with Intel's problems finding some archive material AMD wanted, as it requests, amongst others things documents "sufficient to describe fully the tiered process to identify and preserve potentially relevant paper and electronic records developed by Intel and referred to on page 1 of Intel's March 5,2007 letter to the court."

There's a total of 59 subpoena requests to Howrey LLP, which you can see by reading here. µ
