HP offers Vista drivers upgrade

Long haul begins
Wed Dec 13 2006, 14:28
EXISTING HP customers are being offered a free Vista OS upgrade along with a DVD choc-a-bloc with drivers.

The offer applies to qualifying consumer PCs, and if you register here, HP will also send you what it says is simple guide to upgrading your PCs with the correct drivers.

It said that since 2001 it worked with Microsoft to ensure an easy upgrade path. It already has over 450 products which it said are Vista ready, that is have drivers.

Drivers it doesn't have will be made available on the HP site. It will also offer what's called an "inpromptu class" for people that have problems. "HP has successfully used these classes in the past to respond to virus outbreaks," it said. µ
