AugustOne - the only Microsoft PR agency that chats to the INQ
In Idaho, locals reported layoffs across all departments, from engineers to production workers.
"It was Black Monday around here," one worker, told the Idaho Statesman."
Micron is keeping quiet on the lay-offs, although they come as no surprise after the company posted a $225 million third-quarter loss at the end of June.
Some employees - or ex-employees - spoke to the Statesman to tell of boxes being prepared for employees to cart their stuff off home in, with extra security drafted in to see them off the premises.
Those that talked to the press did so anonymously for fear of jeopardising any pay-off deal they might get.
No numbers are clear at the moment but Micron may make some utterance in a conference call scheduled for Thursday. µ
