Intel's Gelsinger not frit of AMD Barcelona

Has things up its sleeves

KICKING PAT Gelsinger swept into London today and we had a five minute chat with him and 10 minutes with his bag, the first being far more interesting.

This is not his or Intel's fault. Your dogged INQ correspondent turned up at the wrong venue.

Gelsinger is at the Landmark Hotel to present on power efficient data centres, but we had a quick speed dating session with him about the position of his company versus the competition on the server side.

He said that although it's still unclear what AMD's Barcelona will bring to the party, Intel is "not standing still". He said that Intel will be able to produce better bins and bus rates during this year.

He also said that Intel was likely to disclose its CSI plans at the Beijing April Developer Forum.

The bag didn't say a word. µ
