WOULD YOU you guess that the cheapest and safest place to buy the iPod Shuffle is on the Apple website? They are selling a 1GB model for $99, $25 cheaper than everywhere else. This includes a one year limited warranty and free shipping. Of course, you do get apple's white headphones, the 12-hour battery and everything else. Down the page, you can also buy the stunning 12-inch iBook G4 which comes with a 1.2GHz G4 processor, Ethernet, modem, 256MB memory, a 30GB HDD and a tiny screen for only $799.

Some though might prefer that Dell Inspiron 700m with a 12-inch monitor but a more powerful Intel pentium M processor 1.6GHz. You get a DVD writer, a WXGA monitor - 1200x800, 256MB memory, 40GB HDD, a wireless card and that's it. The price though reflects the diminutive size of the laptop. $949.

Here is the UK, I've spotted that Kodak Easy Share CX7530 digital camera with a 3x Optical zoom and a five MP resolution for only £99.99 including free delivery and VAT from Amazon. You get a free Tamrac Camera case with it. Much better in quality than similarly priced digicam, it doubles as a camcorder with audi feedback. The reviewers adored it.

Might it be the answer to my prayers? Being able to write my articles in my bed, under the sheets and without the sound of keyboard keys waking her up? Saveateagle sells the Viewsonic Airpanel 100 for only $289.95. It is a refurbished product but who cares? Designed as a wireless thin client, it offers a 10.4in TFT screen. It comes with Windows CE, a PC Card slot, 128MB memory and 32MB flash, a CF slot and a 14-hours autonomy. When it was launched it cost north of $1500.
