THE ASUS Extreme N7800GT Dual is reviewed at Hexus. This time around, Asus has been the first off the starting block with two Seventh Generation Geforce on one PCB. 2000 units have been made. You get all the performance that you can expect from a pair of 7800GT but why would some people prefer to buy this - more expensive - part rather than two regular GTs in SLI, we wonder.

Meanwhile, Gigabyte has released the GA-8N SLI Quad which allows up to four x16 PCIe slots. Using Gigabyte's own 3D1 graphic card, you will be able to get 10 monitors running simultaneously. Now is Nvidia going to implement Quad SLI support in its next drivers? It might not be a market winner, but what graphic card manufacturer would not like to sell eight top of the range GPUs and two chipsets in a go?

Viaarena has an article on how to secure a wireless home network. Written by a woman - a relatively rare bird - it covers broad areas like SSID, WEP and WPA. A brief introduction for the neophyte but that's it.

Hardwarezone brings its own test of the Sound Blaster X-Fi. Straight away, it receives an award for the most innovative product. The XFi is 30 times more powerful than the SB Live with a transistor count rivalling some Pentium IV processors. While a large percentage of computer users won't see the benefit of those - expensive - cards, discerning audiophiles will appreciate the huge step from the SB Live to the X-Fi.

Biosmagazine tests the Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanner which scans film and slides. It includes software to remove dust and scratches and includes Adobe's Photoshop Elements, ABBYY's Finereader Sprint Plus and Newsoft Presto Bizcard software as well as Epson's own apps.

Terratec's Cinergy Hybrid T USB XS TV Tuner gets tested at Xtremecomputing. You get a fully fledged remote control as well as an external antenna with a magnetic base. It combines a digital and analog TV tuner into a very small form factor. Excellent piece of kit. A little bit on the expensive side though. µ
