CHIP FIRM Intel has gone and sued a firm that undertakes forensic investigations into computers and identity theft for breaching its trademark and so, allegedly, messing with its identity.

The case was started in a San Fran district court earlier this week.

Intel Agents was formed by an ex FBI special agent with 25 years of service in both criminal investigations and intelligence fields.

As the world+dog knows, and Intel hates, the word "intel" is often used as shorthand for intelligence.

So if you do a search on "intel" it often pops up stuff about spooks and the like which have little to do with silicon chips. AMD gets annoyed because if you do a search on that, you get lots of articles about eye disease.

It must be very, very frustrating. But hey... µ
