SONY IS about to deliver its first three 50GB dual-layer Blu-ray movies.

A "comedy" called Click is due tomorrow, followed by Black Hawk Down on 14 November and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby on 12 December.

The double-density disks will be stuffed with all sorts of extra tat the like of which Sony is unable to squeeze on to its previously-unsheathed smaller disks: undeleted scenes, actors pretending theirs is a difficult job, that sort of thing.

David Bishop, president of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, reckons the extra capacity means "added value" for consumers.

We're unconvinced. µ
