Patents wiki arrives

Parrot gun proves popular
Tuesday, 10 October 2006, 17:51
BECAUSE THE INTERNET clearly doesn't have enough Wikis already, a new Wiki page is being launched that will cover everything you could possibly want to know about patents in the US, WikiPatents.com.

On the site you can search a database of patents, for absolutely no money at all. The only price you pay is being a bit of a boring sod. And you'll already pay that anyway.

The most popular patent on the site, apparently (there's a "most popular patents" part..), is the "mid-grip high-power pistol," which just goes to show the sort of folks who like to look up patents on the internet.

On the plus side, though, if you're an aspiring inventor this site could be very handy for you, if you've got the patents to sift through everything. Do you see what I did there?

Kevin Hermansen said in a press release that the goal of WikiPatents is to "help improve the U.S. patent system."

Kev went onto say that the "United States Patent and Trademark Office is doing a phenomenal job, given the limited time and resources available to its patent examiners. This resource will further fuel the USPTO's efforts." Then he said some more things about patents. ยต
