Dirty 30 bloke made bombs out of SEGA cartridges

Not out of Sony batteries

ONE OF THE BLOKES in the Guantánamo Bay detention centre apparently made a name for himself making bombs out of old SEGA cartridges.

The New York Times has been looking at what will happen when a new President takes control of the US and works out what to do with the legally dodgy prison camp. Senators John McCain and Barack Obama have said they would close the detention camp when they take office but there remains a problem about what to do with the 255 people banged up there.

Apparently the prison contains one Hassan Bin Attash, a teenage detainee – who was one of the 'Dirty 30' who were bodyguards for Osama bin Laden – captured early in the Afghanistan war.

Attash was probably tortured, but confessed to making detonators out of old SEGA cartridges, we assume to make everyone go Sonic.

The Yemeni – who has received little public attention, particularly from the gaming community – was originally selected by Mr bin Laden as a potential September 11 hijacker. Apparently his bomb making skills were considered a bit too jolly useful.

Of course it is not clear how useful SEGA bomb making skills will be if Attash ever gets out. There are not too many people using the cartridges any more and you can't really stuff a bomb into a second generation disk. µ

Click Click Boom

Maybe Sonic boom would have been better to give a nod to something equally old like street fighter!

That said how funny would it be to hear one going off saying "it's a me mario".
