Microsuck temporarily closes in software patent protest

Patent lawyers rubbing hands in €uroglee
Fri Aug 29 2003, 13:06
THE REVAMPED www.microsuck.com web site has temporarily closed its doors to alert the world against software patents.

It redirects you to the FFII: Software Patents in Europe web site, which claims that our €urocrats have granted 30,000 patents on computer software, and wants to write a new law of unlimited patentability.

That site claims that if Hadyn had patented a symphony, Mozart would have been in bother, and reckons that patents for software will override copyright.

Plus the patents are way too broad.

You can read about this by going to Microsuck or avoid the redirect and go directly here. µ
