AMD announces new fab in New York [state of t'art]

IT LOOKS LIKE AMD is in for a billion dollar day soon, $1.05 billion to be exact.

According to the Times Union, and confirming our earlier story, AMD is about to announce their new fab in upstate New York, and they only get ten digits of free seed money.

There is a question about water supply which the local papers are rabbiting on about.

Also, it looks like there is a bit of a budget battle going on around the plant. I guess AMD will now be able to say its products really are "Made in America", a matter of contention currently in a Delaware court. ยต
