Microsoft finds its soapbox taken

Video service name already trademarked

IT SEEMS that the marketing geniuses at the software outfit Microsoft failed to check if the name of its new video blog service 'SoapBox' was in use.

An outfit called Conversant makes a few products under the trademark 'Soapbox', here.

Although Conversant's products are messaging related, it is fairly clear that the outfit has prior-use of the name. It would be interesting to see what m'learned friends would think. We have asked the Sacramento outfit what it thinks of the Volish moves on their name but it has not got back to us yet.

Conversant seems to have some sort of relationship with Vole. Soapbox works on multiple platforms using .Net. µ
