As predicted

AS PREDICTED here, the maker of game gear, Sony has announced that it is dropping the price of its PS2.

In a press release, Sony says that the recommended retail price for the PlayStation 2 will drop from $149.99 to $129.99.

Many were expecting that Sony would drop the price to $99, but the smart money is on the outfit doing that around the time it releases the PS3.

Some are wondering if Microsoft will follow up with a price cut to its XBox which is currently in the shops at $149. However, Microsoft has indicated that it is quite happy with that price and seems content to let current supplies of the beast fade away as the Xbox 360 steals its thunder.
